Department of watershed was established in
1996 and consists of five research groups : Hydrology, Soil and Water
Conservation, Watershed Management, Artificial Recharge of Aquifers and River
Engineering. The main subjects of research in the watershed department are soil and
water conservation, flood and drought, watershed management, wind and water
erosion, etc.
The main objective of the watershed
department is studying of different methods for management of watersheds according to their
ecological and socio – economic potentials. The watershed department have got three
field stations in Meimeh and Chadegan and Khoor countrysides which are
characterized with different climate and ecological indices for studying on soil
and water conservation in varied conditions. Moreover, another field station
is under construction in kashan countryside.
Due to study on soil and water
subjects in watershed department, a soil and water lab is used in order to analysis the field
samples.
